How to Compose Credible Blog Comments

By | October 7, 2017

Blog comments are a great source of feedback for the site owner and an indication of the blogs popularity to site visitors. Accumulating remarks from your readers is an integral component of the blog building process since they do lend ‘social proof’ to your site but all comments are not equal! When people post comments there are certain ‘elements’ you look for that help to increase the ‘legitimacy’ of the any remark left. In fact without these elements the comment left is pretty much worthless!

Here are the 3 key ‘elements’ you want to look for when site visitors post a response at your blog that will give them more value.

Maintain Relevance

Any comment left needs to be relevant to the post or theme otherwise they are of little use to anybody else and are therefore considered spam. When people post comments it is naturally assumed that they are participating in the discussions of any posted content. To view remarks that are totally irrelevant indicates a lack of respect to not only the site owner but to other site visitors as well. To leave remarks unrelated to any discussion or topics found on the site is an ‘intrusion’ on the community feeling among other visitors.

Be Helpful

Always look to be helpful when you post comments since there is no better way to gain popularity and/or respect. Now the helpfulness of any remark is not limited to the facts of any information it may contain. Insight, opinion and personal experience are all things people can benefit from and also shows that the commentator has put some thought into their response.

Remain Courteous and Cordial

No matter what the point may be of any remark left on a blog there is never a reason to be disrespectful or discourteous to anyone. For starters you must remember blogging sites are ‘social’ communities and disruptive tones, behavior or language is not considered very social. This type of communication can damage the harmony of the ‘community’ itself and should therefore not be allowed.

Blog comments are almost as important as posting frequency and are an integral component of the blog building process. As previously stated however all comments are not equal in their worth or legitimacy. When readers post comments at your site they carry more value if they contain the 3 essential elements mentioned above. So be sure to review any remarks for the aforementioned elements before you decide to allow them on your blog. By screening all posted remarks in this manner you will not subject your visitors to viewing remarks that carry little or no value and only serve to waste their time.

One of the easiest ways to start making money online is to start a blog. Yes it is much more involved than just creating a blog. There are lots of little tips and tricks that can turn your blog into a money making machine. But before you can write a blog you need somewhere to write it.

One of the best ways is to create your own using a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress. There are others, and you can even use a hosted blog on sites such as WordPress.com, BlogLines.com and Blogger.com. There are many to chose from, each with it’s own great features. Hosted service are easier to run and customize, but sometimes the amount of customization is limited and you can usually do only so much. Blog software can range from the simple Blogger blogs with easy to use interface that lets you customize some colors and a few other things. But while hosted blogs are quite powerful by themselves, they’re nothing compared to what can be done with a full CMS like WordPress.

We use WordPress here at TheGadgitech.com for our blog, because it gives us complete control of everything, plus all the plugins and themes add great features, functionality, and more! For those of you who have never worked with web sites and creating pages, your in for a treat. WordPress can be compared to a program that does most of the work for you. Much of the work involved in creating a website has already been done for you – you just have to provide the content (and a few plugins help too). There’s so many doors that a blog can open, and WordPress makes it easy to open them and much more.

Now, as I said, we use WordPress for the blog here at TheGadgitech. However, we actually recommend (and here’s another tip) using all of the above! That’s right get an account with every site we listed above. If you do some searching, you’ll find we have several blogs ourselves. And the ones I listed are only the beginning.

I’ll cut straight to the point… The above sites are among the top blog sites, with 1000’s of bloggers and millions of readers. When properly set up, they will generate more traffic for you, which generally means you make more money. Again, there is much more to learn and there are many other tips and tricks that will turn all of your blogs into traffic generating machines! And we’ll give you all that and more in future posts. But until then, start signing up for those blogs, make a post and play with the features.

How To Start Blogging The Right Way

By | October 5, 2017

Before we get into how to start a blog, you first have to ask yourself if you want to blog professionally or just as a past time. If you want to blog professionally, or look professional. Your first going to have to get a domain name and hosting for your blog.

You can sign-up for a domain at godaddy.com, they also offer hosting, but you don’t have to host your domain there if you don’t want to. I personally use Yahoo and a lot of people use hostgator.com.

After you’ve signed up for a domain and hosting go to WordPress.com or Blogger.com and download there blogging software and install it on your website.

The difference between WordPress and Blogger is in a matter of preference. WordPress is for power bloggers and offers a lot of extra plug-ins that you can download and install to make your blog better. Blogger is for beginners but offers a lot of features that you can use if you just want to have a basic blog. I personally believe that WordPress is a much better blogging system and even if your just blogging casually I believe that everybody should use WordPress.

Now back to the subject at hand…

Generally speaking, people that host blogs on there own domains are normally blogging to make money. Or feel that they really have something to give to the world and want there presence felt.

If you just want to start a blog and don’t need millions of visitors to satisfy your needs, you can sign up for a free blog at WordPress.com or Blogger.com and let them host your blog. Coincidentally enough you can also make money with a free blog. Maybe not as much as you can with your own website hosted blog because you can’t search engine optimize it as much. But you can S.E.O. it enough to generate a healthy amount of traffic.

After you’ve decided on what you want to do. The next step in your blogging career is to pick content for your blog. Whatever subject your passionate about, or think other people are passionate about, that’s what the content of your blog should be.

After you’ve decided on what your blog is going to be about, the next step is to post good, quality content about it on your blog. If you offer valuable content on your blogs, visitors will come to it and continue to visit it in the future.

If you want to generate additional traffic to your blog. Pick good keywords for the subject of your blog and use them as your subject titles. And after you create a new blog post, submit your new post to article directories with a link back to your blog.

Design is plays a key role for any blog. He doesn’t loot at our feet at first glance. First impression is the best impression. That impression can be possible with good design. So the design is essential for bringing best look for the blog.

Blog Writing: 5 Tips to Turbocharge Your Blog

By | October 3, 2017

Blog writing is extremely important. Most of the time we are updating our blog, we are writing. We are not working on the template or trying to get a better picture up or deciding what new category we should or shouldn’t add, but we are writing.

Here are 5 tips to help supercharge your blog writing, and by extension your blog as well!

1) Write in a conversational tone.

Marketese and business speak do not work in blogs. Write as though you are speaking to a friend. “If you ever went to business school ignore everything you learned about writing while there,” is very popular advice that lots of people give and is not far off the mark. If you have trouble writing conversationally, try saying your thoughts out loud as if speaking to someone before writing them down.

2) Improve your vocabulary. Great writers have great vocabularies.

The best and most painless way to increase vocabulary is just to read a lot. Now I fail somewhat here, because although I read a lot, it’s primarily blogs and business books. I am sure if added some fiction to the mix, and I love fiction, I’d improve my vocabulary even faster, but with three kids time is a challenge.

Read a wide variety of stuff; if you don’t like to read, you probably shouldn’t be trying to write!

3) Write like yourself; don’t try to emulate writers you admire!

You might love Dan Brown or Steven King, but you simply can’t write like them and they can’t write like you either. You have to find your own voice, your individual style, and then you will write with a lot more confidence.

4) Play with the language while you are writing.

Now what does this mean? It means have fun writing. Use the vernacular, use slang and expressions that perhaps are not that common, but which hopefully people understand.

Make your prose accessible; make it entertaining. This adds extra appeal to your blog. Forget about grammatical correctness. It’s not absolutely required nor even desired in many cases.

5) Remember that blogging is like speaking in public, emphasis on public. Use common sense. Don’t blog about what should remain private. If it’s something you wouldn’t talk about loudly outside, perhaps in the neighborhood pub or in a restaurant, don’t blog about it.

People often forget the Internet is public — very public. Even if you don’t mention people or events specifically, if you provide enough detail, people are going to figure out what you are talking about. Even anonymous bloggers have to watch out.

Blog writing is critical and most people enjoy it. Forget about the literary nonsense your teachers beat into your head and write like you speak, conversationally. Have fun writing, using slang as appropriate and improve your vocabulary. Do remember the Internet is public, but have fun!

If by any chance you find after giving it a serious try that writing is not for you, you can always use video and audio for your blog content as well.
